Recently, Lisa was diagnosed with an aggressive, high-grade uterine cancer that has spread beyond her uterus. She just completed her first surgery and, after recovery, will begin chemotherapy in the coming weeks. This diagnosis came just months after she was involved in a serious car accident in November, where her vehicle was hit and flipped, breaking her collarbone and leaving her unable to work. Now, she is facing an even greater challenge as she prepares for months of treatment, recovery, and uncertainty. This should be a time filled with excitement as her youngest son prepares to graduate high school and head off to college, but instead, our family is navigating a difficult road ahead.
Our mom is a dedicated mental health nurse who has spent her life caring for others in their most vulnerable moments. Whether it’s her patients or friends, Lisa has always shown up with compassion, kindness, and an open door. That same love is what she has poured into our family every single day as a mom.
As a single parent, the financial strain from medical bills and time away from work will be significant, even with insurance and short-term disability. We are starting this fundraiser to help ease that burden so Lisa can focus on healing. If you’re able to donate, share, or send a message of encouragement, it truly means more than we can say. Your support will help Lisa focus on her recovery and continue to be the incredible mom and caregiver she has always been.
