My co-worker and dear friend Lisa Velasquez has been diagnosed with cancer. Lisa and I have worked together for 9 years, and she is so loved by the clients we care for. As a caregiver herself for many years, Lisa has touched countless lives with her kindness and dedication.

Lisa is a devoted mother of five and a proud, young grandmother, excited to watch her grand blessings grow up. She has been a single mom, and now that her children are grown, she was looking forward to a new phase of life. This diagnosis has been a devastating blow, especially as the cancer has spread to two-thirds of her pelvis, the pelvic wall, her right kidney, and lymph nodes on the left. Lisa will soon begin an intensive treatment plan of radiation five days a week, along with chemotherapy.

Lisa’s strength and spirit inspire everyone around her, but this journey will be challenging. Any token of love, support, and especially prayers for peace, guidance, and rest are so appreciated.
