Support Lisa's Battle Against Terminal Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Lisa, one of the fiercest, funniest, and strongest women I know. Right now, she’s in the fight of her life—not just against terminal cancer, but against a system that’s left her and her husband hanging by a thread.
Lisa is battling stage four clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC)—a diagnosis that, just 15 years ago, was a death sentence with no real treatment options. Most patients were given less than two years to live. But Lisa? She’s defying the odds.
Her journey began with the loss of her entire left kidney and adrenal gland. In 2019, the cancer returned in her right kidney—she lost part of that too. Within months, it metastasized to her pancreas. To even qualify for the Whipple procedure, Lisa went through four rounds of Opdivo/Yervoy immunotherapy to shrink the tumor. She’s now on Opdivo monotherapy, receiving infusions every four weeks—and has been ever since the surgery.
Despite living with terminal cancer, Lisa worked full-time until August 2024. That’s when her body gave out. A mysterious infection caused brain swelling and a 105° fever. She underwent a spinal tap, lost 40 pounds, and was told by both her doctor and palliative care team: she could no longer work.
Lisa and her husband Rob, a disabled U.S. Army veteran who served during OEF and OIF, have already lost their car. Now their home is at risk. They spent years fixing their credit to buy this house—and they’re watching it slip away.
This fundraiser will help cover:
- Mortgage payments
- Utilities
- Groceries and essentials
- Gas for Lisa’s treatments (1 hour away each month)
- Maintenance on their one remaining vehicle
Despite a terminal diagnosis, Lisa was denied disability. They're now fighting that decision in court.
If you can give any amount, it will go directly to keeping Lisa safe and housed during treatment. If you can't give, please share this. She’s fought harder than most people can imagine. Let’s help her rest, heal, and breathe—without the fear of losing it all.
