Lisa's life was turned upside down when she received a call from her doctor on May 15th. Returning to the doctor's office to get the results of her biopsy, she received the news no one wants to hear. She was diagnosed with mouth cancer and told that further testing would be needed.
After completing blood work and consulting with a surgeon, we found out that she will need quick treatment. She is tentatively scheduled for surgery on June 16 to remove half of her tongue and some of her lymph nodes. She will need a tracheotomy tube for breathing and a feeding tube during her recovery. Along with radiation and chemotherapy treatments post surgery, she will also need Occupational Therapy to relearn how to eat, drink and talk.
Lisa currently has more appointments scheduled to continue scans and testing in preparation for the procedure. She, along with her husband, Jose, and two kids, Hannah & Jacob, will need help as they begin this difficult and expensive journey through treatment and recovery.
Please send your love, prayers and consider donating if you are able. Every little bit will help their family navigate through this incredibly hard time.
