Update on Lisa Tacker Taylor - Day 75
Lisa had a CT scan this morning of her brain. Just a routine follow up scan to see how things were progressing. Well everything is progressing just fine. The swelling continues to go down and the excess blood is being absorbed. SO, that’s great news. I was moving Lisa around in the bed before her OT session and I bumped her right arm. She held her right arm and started to tear up. I asked her what was wrong and she just continued to hold her right arm. I asked if her right arm hurt and she said “yes”. Let that sink in!! This is good and bad. It’s bad that it hurts, but it’s good that she has feelings in her right arm now. Hopefully soon she will begin to feel her right leg. And then, hopefully, we will begin to see movement.
Lisa is eating all of her food now and actually drank a bowl of tomato soup through a straw. Why didn’t I think of that? Every day she amazes me by her resilience. She puts in the work, she doesn’t give up and she has a great attitude. Sure, she still gets frustrated with the lack of communication, but who doesnt. We will get there babe!! We will get there!! We are still waiting to see if we can move to another rehab facility close to the house. This is a big one and I’m a bit nervous that insurance is going to tell me to “pound sand”. But we have seen some amazing things happen thus far. I know God isn’t done! So we hope, pray and believe the next steps that we need will happen as they are meant to happen.
Good news as well, Dee and Grantt Eddinger received great news from her tests after her bone flap was put back. All is good!! Thank you all for lifting them and Lisa and the family up!! We feel so blessed to have so many in our corner.
Tomorrow is a new day, and we will pray for continued healing, to get the answers we long for and to pray for those that also need our help. Please pray for Jim Cherry and his family as he is having surgery for colon cancer on Friday.
