Support Lisa Schwabel's Fight for Life 1100 Miles from Home

On July 9th, while on what was meant to be a joyful family trip. My mother in law, Alisa (Lisa) Schwabel, suddenly became gravely ill. What started as a kidney infection escalated quickly, and Lisa was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Upon arrival, doctors discovered that Lisa had developed urosepsis, a life-threatening condition. She was taken into emergency surgery, admitted into the intensive care unit, put into a medically induced coma following surgery, where she remains today. Ned, Lisa’s husband, has remained in Orlando and will continue to be by her side while she fights for her life. Lisa’s daughter, Megan, will be with Ned in Orlando.
Tragically, Lisa has lost all kidney function and has now been started on dialysis as she continues to fight for her life. Her recovery will be long and challenging. In the weeks ahead, Lisa is expected to require extensive therapy and rehabilitation once she leaves the ICU and she will need the constant support of her husband by her side.
While they remain hopeful, the emotional and financial toll of being 1,100 miles away from home is growing each day. To help ease the financial burden during this difficult time, we have started this GoFundMe to support Lisa and her family. The funds raised will go directly towards:
• Ongoing medical expenses and treatments
• Lodging and meals for her family while they remain in Orlando
• Travel costs and future arrangements once Lisa is stable enough to return home
• Other unforeseen expenses that arise during this medical emergency
Lisa is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loves her family fiercely. Right now, she needs all the strength and support we can offer.
Please consider donating whatever you can to help this incredible woman and her family. If you're unable to give, sharing this page means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this unimaginable time.
