Support Lisa Nelson: outspoken leader terminated by employer

Donation protected

Lisa Nelson has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years, and comes from a family of healthcare workers going back 2 generations before her. Lisa started organizing this year to form a union at her workplace, Aids Project Los Angeles (APLA), and has been an outspoken leader alongside other clinic workers across the state of California.

Working with SEIU Community Clinic Workers United, Lisa has been an advocate for increasing the minimum wage to $25 for healthcare workers in California, has spoken at elected roundtables about the challenges that clinic workers face, and has been incredibly public about her support to form a union for all clinic workers, including her own coworkers at APLA.

Lisa believes her purpose in life is to help those in need, and that is why Lisa followed in her grandmother's and mother's footsteps in the healthcare field. She is passionate about forming a union, and truly feels that forming a union for clinic workers is the only way to raise pay, secure job protection and increase industry standards for healthcare workers in California.

On July 8, Lisa Nelson was terminated by her employer, and is in need of help to assist with bills and rent in the coming weeks.

All funds raised will go directly to Lisa Nelson, to help during these difficult times. We hope that you can to donate, and whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated by Lisa and her family.
