Support Lisa Nance in Miller's Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Hey everyone. We can’t believe we’re writing this. This week we found out our dad Miller Nance has advanced stage terminal cancer. They can’t determine what it is so it’s being treated as metastatic adenocarcinoma. It is all throughout his skeleton and causing severe pain. Because of his heart transplant 25 years ago and chronic kidney disease, treatment will be very challenging and will focus on palliative care. His transplanted heart is still kicking butt- so if you’re not an organ donor, please become one. A young man in Ohio gave us 25 extra years.
Because the cause is yet to be determined, we have no idea of a prognosis. We’ve been talking of hospice and all the things. It’s really bad y’all. The cancer is throughout his entire body. Biopsies have been unconclusive as to origin. Dad is unable to walk farther than from the bed to the bathroom right now.
Dad will not return to work and mom doesn’t make a lot of money. Molly and I have created this Go Fund Me account and we’re asking for your support to help our mom Lisa Nance pay for rent, groceries, medical bills… all the things. My parents are incredibly hard workers but are of modest means. They’ve always been there for Molly and I- working multiple jobs while raising us, making sure we were safe and provided for, and loved us unconditionally, even when we didn’t always deserve it. Raising us wasn’t easy. We were Miller’s kids after all! But they raised us right- to be confident, compassionate, to pursue passions, to follow our hearts, and be good humans. They done good.
We can’t begin to fathom what all this will cost or the emotional toll it will place on our family. Dad has been best friends with nearly everyone he has ever met, and he’s touched the lives of countless people throughout his life. Mom has been a caregiver for almost 30 years, while working, volunteering, being a friend, mom and grandmother, and it hasn’t always been easy. They’ve both likely touched your life too, and they need your help right now.
If you can, please contribute to this fund. If you can’t, please say a prayer, send a vibe, or just remember and share a fun time you had with dad. Send all your positive energy to Northwest Arkansas. We need as much as you can muster.
With love, faith, and gratitude,
