UPDATE 5/1- Lisa came home yesterday after 32 days in the hospital! We’ve said from the very beginning that she’s a fighter—and she proved that every single day. Despite the many setbacks she faced, she kept pushing forward, and we are so grateful to finally have her home.

Over the next several weeks, Lisa will be focused on her recovery. Due to her weakened immune system, she will not be able to return to work for possibly up to six months.

She is incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support—so much so that she truly doesn’t have the words to fully express her gratitude. She feels deeply blessed by all the prayers lifted up on her behalf and truly believes that they led to the miracle of receiving a new liver within hours of being placed on the National Transplant List on Easter Sunday. A true blessing!!

UPDATE 4/20 - Today marks three weeks that Lisa has been in the hospital. She is truly a fighter, and we’re so grateful to share that she is finally on the road to recovery.

Her labs are improving, and she has now come off dialysis—her kidneys have started working on their own, which is an incredible step forward. The current plan is that once she is discharged from the hospital, she will transition to Brent House Rehab for about two weeks. There, she’ll continue to regain her strength while her medical team closely monitors her progress and checks her labs several times a week.

Lisa still has a long road ahead to full recovery, but the love, support, and prayers she has received have made a meaningful difference in her fight.

We want to sincerely thank everyone for the prayers, encouragement, and donations. At this time, we still do not know what her portion of the hospital expenses will be, nor the cost of rehabilitation, so every contribution continues to help more than we can express.

Thank you, truly, from the bottom of our hearts.

UPDATE: As of today, Monday 4/13, Lisa remains in the ICU. She has been brought out of the medically induced coma and is now able to communicate, which is an encouraging step forward. She is still on dialysis following the transplant as we wait and pray for her kidneys to begin functioning on their own.

Lisa has a long road to recovery ahead, and continued prayers and support mean more than ever during this time. Thank you all for lifting her up and standing by her and her family.

If you are part of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School community, chances are you already know and love Lisa Hebert—as a devoted religion teacher, a caring parent, and a friend who is always there for others.

Today, Lisa is fighting for her life in the ICU after undergoing an unexpected liver transplant. Her body has endured significant trauma, and we are deeply grateful for the continued prayers and support for Lisa and her family. She will need many more in the critical days ahead.

While the exact cause remains uncertain, doctors believe she may have developed autoimmune hepatitis, a condition that rapidly and severely attacked her liver. Although we may never fully understand how this happened, we do know that Lisa will require lifelong medication to protect her health moving forward. We are incredibly thankful that she was able to receive a donor liver within 24 hours of being placed on the national transplant list—a true blessing.

Many have asked how they can help. If you know Lisa, you know she is so much more than a patient. She is a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife to Paul, and a cherished friend to so many. She pours her heart into the children she teaches every single day.

Her husband, a landscaper, has been unable to work over the past two weeks as he remains by her side throughout this difficult journey. With a long road to recovery ahead, the financial and emotional strain on their family continues to grow.
Lisa is the kind of person who shows up—always giving, always caring, always putting others before herself.

Now, she needs us.
