Dear Friends,

I am reaching out to you to support a dear friend of mine, Lisa Cervantes, who desperately needs financial help to fight her battle with multiple myeloma. Lisa would never ask for help herself because she believes there are always others less fortunate than her.

Lisa was diagnosed in January 2024 with stage 3 Multiple Myeloma and has been enduring an incredibly tough journey since then. After 16 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, Lisa's cancer went into remission, and her oncologist recommended a stem cell transplant to increase her chances of beating cancer. Lisa bravely underwent the transplant on November 13, 2024 (her rebirth date). Unfortunately, on day 6 of her 100-day isolation at home, Lisa developed sepsis and was hospitalized until the infection was under control and she was stable enough to return home.

Since her initial hospitalization in January, Lisa has been unable to work full-time and is now on her third appeal for SSI-disability benefits. She recently lost her insurance coverage and is unsure if Medicaid will cover maintenance chemotherapy. Lisa has exhausted all her financial options over the past year and urgently needs assistance while fighting for her SSI benefits.

Lisa is an amazing person who has dedicated her life to ministering to others. She has fed and clothed the homeless, given her last dollar to those in need, and consistently put the needs of others before her own. Even during this horrible time of treatments and hospitalizations, Lisa continues to check on, care for, and make others smile. She helps other cancer patients with filling out forms, meal planning, and just talking them through their bad days. Her generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit are truly inspiring.

Lisa's life has been a testament to selfless service. She has spent countless hours volunteering at shelters, organizing food drives, and providing support to those in crisis. Her compassion knows no bounds, and her dedication to uplifting others is unparalleled. Even now, amidst her own battle, she remains committed to helping others, proving that her heart for service is indomitable.
