Support Lisa Baumeister Koch's Stage 4 Cancer Battle
Donation protected
After more than a decade battling cancer, Lisa Baumeister Koch and her family, who have given so generously to others, now need our assistance. In 2014, on Father's Day, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. After treatment, Lisa lived cancer free until August of 2019. Unfortunately, her cancer returned as metastatic stage 4 cancer.
Now, after numerous trips to the Emergency Room, on October 5, 2024, Lisa was admitted to the hospital where she spent 34 days. After chemotherapy treatments and a bout with pneumonia, she was released on November 8, 2024. This third round of cancer has been the most challenging.
Lisa had to give up her career as a high school English/Journalism teacher, when her cancer returned in 2019, but she was able to continue working using her writing and editing skills. Unfortunately, due to the cancer, Lisa has not been able to work steadily since last Spring.
With three children in college, this previously two-income family has been hard hit. Alec is a student at the University of Cincinnati, Elle at the University of Central Florida, and Kyle at Morehead State in Kentucky.
During these challenging years, while living with cancer, Lisa has won two wonderful awards for her incredible volunteerism in raising money and helping others: Cancer Family Care-Unsung Hero Award and Celebration of Angels connected to the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care.
It is now our turn to assist Lisa and Jay Koch and their family.
