Hi, my name is Jenni and I am fundraising for my sister Lisa and brother-in-law Chad.

In March of this year, Chad Winters and Lisa Cordia were faced with the unique circumstances of both having to have surgery at the same time.

Lisa, who has long suffered from severe to profound hearing loss, making her hearing aids ineffective, was scheduled to have her 1st of 2 cochlear implant surgeries. Being in the service industry, Lisa has had a very difficult time understanding/communicating with her clients and anyone else she comes in contact with. Meanwhile, Chad was told he would need an immediate surgery to amputate the end of his foot due to complications related to contracting Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever several years ago. He has long suffered with neuropathy which has led to several infections and wound care that has greatly limited his ability to work.

I'm happy to share that both Chad and Lisa's surgeries were successful. Lisa is back to work and adjusting to her new cochlear implant with the second surgery tentatively scheduled for later this year. Chad’s recovery, due to the nature of the surgery, is taking quite a bit longer but the doctor is pleased with his healing process, it’s just slow. After fully recovering, Chad should be back to work and enjoying activities and pastimes that he has always done.

As with any surgery or medical condition that requires being out of work, loss of income and unexpected medical bills can be expected.

I have created this GoFundMe campaign in an attempt to lessen the financial burden on Lisa and Chad and allowing them to focus on their healing and recovery journeys.
