At just 3 years old, Lio should be worrying about which toy to play with next or what snack he wants after nap time. Instead, he is bravely beginning the fight of his life.
Over the past couple of weeks, Lio’s family noticed some concerning symptoms that just didn’t feel right. After appointments, tests, and unimaginable fear, they received the words no parent is ever prepared to hear: Lio has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
In the span of one week, this sweet three-year-old has already endured more medical procedures and treatment than many adults face in a lifetime. And this is only the beginning.
The most aggressive phase of Lio’s treatment will last the next eight months. It will include frequent hospital visits, intense chemotherapy, countless lab draws, medications, monitoring, and long days that no toddler should have to experience. He will need constant care, comfort, and advocacy every step of the way.
His mom, Kyla, is a dedicated travel nurse who has spent her career caring for others. But as a travel nurse, she does not have traditional job benefits like paid time off or extended leave protections. If she is not working, she is not getting paid. And right now, her only job is being by Lio’s side.
Kyla and her family are now facing not only the emotional weight of a childhood cancer diagnosis, but also the financial strain that comes with it. Loss of income, medical expenses, travel to and from treatment, daily living costs, and caring for Lio’s twin and older sibling will quickly add up.
No family should have to choose between being present for their child’s fight and worrying about how the bills will be paid.
We are asking for help to ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult season. Every donation — no matter the size — will go toward supporting Lio’s medical journey and helping this family focus on what truly matters: his healing and their time together.
If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page and keeping Lio in your prayers. The road ahead will be long, but this family is strong — and with the support of their community, they will not walk it alone.
Let’s surround Lio with love, strength, and hope as he fights like the brave little warrior he already is.
Thank you for supporting Lio and his family during the hardest chapter of their lives. ❤️
