UPDATE (6.7.2025)- Lionso will need to have a bone marrow transplant. Following the transplant, he will need to stay within 30 minutes of the hospital. Because he will need someone with him 24 hours a day, he and his family are looking for a short-term place to stay in that area for several months. Please pray that they can find something! Thank you for your support!
UPDATE (6.3.2025) - After a whirlwind of testing, doctors have confirmed that Lionso has PH-like CRLF2 (Philadelphia chromosome–like acute lymphoblastic leukemia). The Q fever bacteria was a false positive. We are thankful that the doctors are working hard to figure this all out and appreciate the support as Lionso continues this fight! Any help is greatly appreciated!
UPDATE (5.24.2025) - Earlier this week Lionso was admitted to KU Medical Center. They found a Q fever bacteria that is spread from farm animals (which he has not been around). The doctors have also discovered that Lionso has B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Any help that Lionso can get is greatly appreciated as he works to fight this!
Lionso Canchola has been a healthy 24-year-old until overnight on March 22/23 when he was found unconscious and unresponsive at his work. He was transported to a local hospital where he was unresponsive for a few days. His road to recovery has had several setbacks as he started having seizures, and blood clots were discovered. Medical professionals are thinking that he might have Venous Sinus Thrombosis. This rare disorder affects about 5 people in 1 million each year, according to John Hopkins. They still aren't sure and are still trying to figure this mysterious illness out. He has been transferred from St. Joseph, Missouri to Overland Park, Kansas for more specialized medical care.
Lionso graduated from Mid-Buchanan in Faucett, Missouri. His family has always been actively involved in the community, and now it's our time to help them out. Please donate to help offset medical expenses as well as travel expenses as his family continues to support him through this. He also needs support to pay his bills as his workman's comp claim was denied so he has no income right now.
