The Cummings family is humbly asking for support, prayers and all of the good vibes through a tragic accident, that has turned into a rare, severe infection.

Our sweet Linzy was in a motorcycle accident on Father’s Day (June 15th, 2025). She suffered major, traumatic injuries to her left arm, as well as right hip, and leg. She also had several other smaller breaks as well as road rash on both sides. She had 3 reconstructive surgeries on top of several other painful procedures. Things were going well, by day 8 she was starting to have improvement with pain and mobility.

Unfortunately though, around day 13, she started to have an increase of pain, accompanied by a fever. She then started having large blisters appear which were extremely painful and quickly became infected.

The decision was then made to take her back into surgery to investigate, and while in there they found her to be suffering from a severe case of Necrotizing Soft Tissue infection. From there they did radical surgery to remove any affected tissue in all 4 affected spots, and she was then put into ICU, sedated, to be closely monitored. She has since had a second (well 5th technically) radical surgery, and is scheduled for a third this afternoon, with a plan for more surgery every 24-48 hours. The cause of the infection is still unknown at this time. The doctors have explained to us that that presentation of her infection is very un common, and they are still perplexed as to what is going on.

After she came out of the second surgery, I was able to explain to her what had happened. This is something none of us could have prepared for, but we have been and will continue to be by her side throughout it all.

This morning, she asked me to create this Gofundme and fill everyone in on what has been going on. Our family has incured many unplanned expenses (gas, food, hotel stays) over these past 20 days, and as of now we have no clear end in sight. Any support in any way to help our family with these current unplanned expenses, as well as Linzy’s medical bills is greatly appreciated.

Many of you know what all our family has been through over these past 5 years, and though we have been strong and pushed through it all, we now know that it’s okay to ask for help.
