URGENT HELP NEEDED
And here we are... again. We received Lint’s radiology report back yesterday afternoon and learned that his joint is septic. After speaking to his doctor, we came up with a plan to start on antibiotics and continue with anti-inflammatories until we could get him in for an appointment with a specialist at New Bolton Center.
Upon calling and speaking with a doctor at New Bolton today, they strongly encouraged us to bring him in this afternoon for urgent treatment. The sooner they start treatment on his little leg, the better possibility they have of saving it (which is our goal).
The last thing we want is for Lint to live uncomfortably, so we did what we knew was right and brought him in right away.
We always want to be transparent with you guys in regards to our efforts, the animals, and what we need help with. It’s hard to always ask for help, but the reality is, we can't do it without you.
Lint is just a baby and has so much life to live. Please help us help him. Anything helps! Tell your friends about us ❤️
As always, thank you for all of the support!
LINT UPDATE HELP STILL NEEDED
First off, we want to thank you guys for the donations already made. Little Lint doesn’t know how lucky he is to have such an amazing support system.
With that being said, we still need your help! After a lot of back and forth with Lint’s care team at New Bolton and his regular vet here at home, we all decided that with the condition of his leg and joint, amputation would be the best option for him.
Unfortunately, Lint’s leg and joint had much more damage than we originally saw on the x-ray. His team had offered a series of procedures to try and stabilize his joint and bone; however, the recovery time was long, the aftercare would be aggressive, and his time as a little lamb would have been spent in and out of the hospital with little confidence that the damage would be reversible. Not to mention the amount of pain he would have been in.
What does this mean for Lint?
The decision was not easy at all, but by choosing amputation, Lint is predicted to have a pretty speedy recovery. He’s currently staying at NBC with his amazing care team who are prepping him for his LIFE-CHANGING surgery tomorrow morning. We can’t wait for our boy to be home, but we know that he’s in the best hands!
We plan to continue to keep everyone updated as we get more information on Lint’s progress. We are hoping to have him home early next week!
