Help Support Linh Truong's Recovery

Update 6/18/23: Linh is home and feeling better. He's able to eat now, and can even walk around the house and cook a little bit. His recovery will continue to be slow, but he and his family wanted to share their gratitude to everyone who donated funds and shared words of encouragement - the outpouring of support has meant so much to all of us. Linh has asked me to close the GoFundMe for now, as they have enough funds to get by for the next couple of months. He is optimistic he can return to some type of work soon, though we're all encouraging him to focus on his health first and foremost. Update 6/7/23: Linh is home but experiencing periodic fevers and is unable to eat. He's still on a heavy course of antibiotics and we are trying to work with his health care team to help him feel better. Thank you all for your support and words of encouragement - they are truly lifting him up at this time.

6/1/23 Update: Update: Linh has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home, with nursing staff visits 3x a week at this point. We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support - your donations are granting more peace of mind to my brother and his family, and we are all feeling thankful for your kindness, generosity, and words of encouragement. ❤️❤️❤️

My brother Linh Truong has always been healthy and strong, often working 7 days a week as a truck driver to help build a good life for him and his family. All of that changed suddenly last week when what was "just a cough" turned into him collapsing on the floor, unable to breathe. Linh was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to a severe case of pneumonia that became septic. The lung infection was so dangerous that he had to be on a respirator and painkillers for several days, and he had to undergo multiple surgeries to take care of complications that arose from the infection. His recovery is expected to be slow and painful - it might take months to regain his strength, and until then he will be unable to return to his truck driving job full-time. Linh and his family are very concerned about his loss of income, combined with the mounting expenses of his lengthy hospital stay, multiple surgeries, and required physical therapy - these costs will be almost impossible for his family to cover since Linh is/was the only one with a job. They are asking for contributions of any amount to help pay for medical bills and general living expenses for his family (rent, gas, and groceries) until Linh can get back on his feet. Even $10 helps toward weekly groceries!
