Support Lindy’s Cancer Journey!
It is just a small lump, right? Oh no, there is another one too. Sometimes life throws things at us that we were not expecting, and life has certainly thrown a curve ball at Lindy.
As Lindy made the appointment to head into the doctor’s office, again, and get the necessary tests; her stomach and heart were in knots and the stress level was already rising. After testing the Doctor called. (I think we all worry when the doctor is the one calling) and she began to make appointments and process the news. Lindy was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. Yep, the big nasty C word. Melanoma is not necessarily related to too much exposure to the sun, it can also be genetic. This form of cancer can be very hard to get rid of and unfortunately in this case it is in multiple areas of Lindy’s body. Cancer SUCKS!!
Lindy is in for a very long journey of treatment. I think that may be the best part, it could be a long journey. I, for one, know that the longer we are allowed to have Lindy in our lives, the richer we will be for it.
Just like Lindy has done for many of us, it is our turn to help support her.
First and foremost, funds that are raised will go toward living expenses to ensure she can continue to have a roof over her head and help keep her business intact. Lindy is a massage therapist (a crazy good one) who is self employed so all time off to get to appointments, or is needed for resting after treatments, is unpaid.
Funds will also be used for treatment itself. Lindy does have insurance, but as we are all too familiar with, insurance leaves a lot of bills which add to stress when you are already in a situation with unsure income in the coming months.
Additionally, I would love to have everyone who knows her, send notes of encouragement. Lindy is someone I have had the pleasure to spend time with. She is an ear to anyone and is happy to offer advice or the shirt off her back if you needed it.
This journey will be a tough one, so it is a good thing that this beautiful lady is tough as nails. Honestly, I think Lindy would keep this more private than I am making it. She is humble and has been selectively quiet about what she is going through as to not burden anyone with the news. I want all of us to come out strong to show her how much she is loved and appreciated by each one of us. Any donation, no matter how small, is so appreciated. Together we can move mountains and continue to share great martinis and memories with Lindy too!!
