Hi All! My name is Lindsey. I’m a wife, mother of two young boys, and at 41 years old, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. In June of this year, I went for my annual mammogram and was given the all clear. At the end of July, I felt a lump in my armpit and immediately had it checked. Ultrasound and biopsy confirmed it was breast cancer that had already spread to my lymph nodes. There is nothing more frustrating than being told by doctors that I did everything right, yet here I am with stage 3 breast cancer.
Prior to the diagnosis, I was a teacher but have since had to step back from that as I will undergo an intense year-long treatment. We are blessed that my husband's job is flexible, but with the loss of my income and him taking time off to help me get to and from appointments, things are getting tight. If you feel so inclined and have the means, we would be grateful for any help we can get!
