Support Lindsey Voetsch's Second Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Lindsey Voetsch is not just a friend to many, she's a beacon of hope and an unwavering advocate for human and environmental rights.
Her passion for supporting the Palestinian cause, Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ rights, and the autism community speaks volumes about her character. Lindsey's ability to touch lives extends through her involvement in the volunteer, skating, and spiritual communities.
She is an avid supporter in her own right, actively engaged in supporting others. This includes (but DEFINITELY not limited to) assisting the houseless, trash collection for a cleaner planet, purchasing merchandise, music, or art from local artists, as well as generously contributing to various fundraisers. Her commitment extends beyond mere words, as she consistently invests in the creative and philanthropic efforts within her community, demonstrating a strong belief in the power of talent and causes.
She feels immensely, providing her love and support for the environment and all living things. She is the type of friend who will touch every flower and tree with you, pausing to appreciate the precious moments. She gives the best hugs, empathizing with every fiber of her being. She will offer the shirt off her back without expecting anything in return.
Her Battle
Lindsey is preparing for her second arachnoid cyst surgery within 3.5 years. Arachnoid cysts are rare and can lead to serious complications like blindness, vertigo, and headaches — challenges Lindsey has experienced in recent years. Unfortunately, Lindsey's first cyst resulted in severe damage to her optic nerve, leading to permanent vision impairment.
Arachnoid cysts usually do not recur or regrow. Due to the the location of Lindsey's cyst, near an artery, it cannot be entirely removed but only drained. This second surgery is critical to improve her quality of life and alleviate these symptoms.
The Road Ahead
The path to recovery is not easy. The surgery and subsequent recovery period are extensive and costly. We're aiming to raise $20,000 to cover medical expenses and support Lindsey during her recovery period, which is expected to span 3+ months.
This surgery is scheduled before the end of the year, and time is of the essence.
