Support Lindsay Weiss: A Mother in Need

Donation protected
Most people start a GoFundMe page to help with serious problems like losing a house, a loved one, or illness. I’m writing on behalf of a wonderful, caring, fantastic person and kind mother of two young boys who has fallen into hard times and desperately needs some help to get her through the next few months.

Lindsay Weiss has been diagnosed with a disability at a young age. She was bullied all through school, but she never let it get her down. Lindsay made plans to pursue going to college in Florida, but her grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so Lindsay gave up her dream of college to stay home to help take care of her grandmother, whom she dearly loved. Lindsay would always be there for all her friends and family despite anything she went through.

Her family moved to Florida about 6 years ago. Despite family difficulties, Lindsay has maintained a positive attitude raising her two children with love and good manners. About 5 years ago, she was employed by a theme park in Florida and loved working there. Due to her disability, she needed some work accommodations made. It seemed the company gave her a difficult time, but she persevered, staying with her job. About 2 months ago, there was an error on her work schedule that she has been trying to get fixed; however, her employer decided the best way to resolve and fix the problem was to let her go from the company while they supposedly are working on it. She is fighting to go back and in contact with the union rep and her boss, but who knows how long that will take since for two months now, she has no income coming in. She tried applying for unemployment but doesn’t qualify. She’s been busy applying for other jobs, but due to her honesty in saying she has a disability, they don’t call her back or she’s turned down.

Currently, she is really struggling and doesn’t see a way out. She can’t afford her car payments, and if she loses her car, her children won’t be able to go to school or other appointments they have. She had to cancel a doctor’s appointment because she didn’t have the co-pay to pay for it. She can’t afford to get glasses or even everyday things like getting the boys haircuts. Lindsay can’t even afford to go to the Dollar Tree as she has no money. (This can happen to anyone, and at this time, she doesn’t know where to turn).

She would be upset knowing I’m writing this, but she has faith in people and believes in miracles, so I’m hoping she is right. With the holiday season right around the corner, I’m hoping some of you will have goodwill and be able to donate anything to help Lindsay get through the next few months. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
