My sister Lindsay Chambers (RN) and her husband Dean (firefighter) continue to navigate life with Ryder James, their micro-preemie approaching 200 days in the NICU. Ryder was born at 23 weeks and just over 1 pound. Although he has come so far, he is still on a ventilator via a trach, has a g-tube, and is currently being treated for an unknown infection. He has not yet seen world outside of the NICU and release dates for a homecoming continue to be pushed out as he fights to survive.
We aren't sure what his future holds.
Due to Ryder's continued ups and downs, Lindsay was asked to resign her position as a nurse since she was out of FMLA leave. The financial pressures are causing unnecessary stress and they've attempted to not ask for much assistance.
It is our hope that the financial pressures are lightened with help from wonderful friends, dedicated family, and our brothers and sisters in firefighting and EMS services.
Thank you all for donations and sharing. No donation is too small, we appreciate it all so much.
