Support Linda's Recovery

Dear friends and family,

My Mother, Linda, at the end of 2015 was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a bone marrow cancer. This type of cancer weakens the bones from the inside.

I am a personal trainer and was training Linda, we discovered that something was not right because she was out of breath and couldn’t perform as usual. We then went to the doctors to get everything checked and we found out this devastating news…

Everything happens for a reason and it was very lucky that it was discovered when it was or she would not have made it to Christmas of 2015. Thankfully we did!

Since then Linda has been undergoing numerous surgeries and operations. There were months spent in hospital. There were good days and there were bad days, we would receive some positive feedback, then it would go backwards again. Linda went through chemo for over a year, weekly doses, of which the amount was increased.

Now, have you ever heard of stem cell transplant? This is when they take your stem cells, or a donors, they use a high dose of chemotherapy, and then return them back to body (hopefully cleared).
What about bone marrow transplant? Yes, there was more than just one. A bone marrow transplant is when they transfuse healthy bone marrow to replace the cancerous bone marrow cells.
Linda underwent surgery for both of these procedures multiple times. As mentioned earlier, we would receive some positive feedback and then it would go backwards.

The tricky thing with Multiple Myeloma is that you must use a different method every single time to clear it. As you can imagine the cancer spread through all of her bones. Each time the procedure didn’t work, we had to try a different approach.
 A good example of this would be the game “Whack A Mole”. However, every time the Mole comes up in the same hole, you must use a different hammer.

This was tough for Mum, not only physically but mentally as well! The strength she has is unlike anything that I have ever seen, for those of you that know Linda would surely agree!
Two years on and we are still fighting this horrible demon. Hospital trips are still happening and the amount of medicine she needs in unbelievable! It makes my supplement stack look tiny!

While we have all been facing this challenge, it has been very difficult to have quality time with her family and friends. Linda has not been working for this time frame and still is unable to work, due to this our cash flow is running very low… Medical bills are through the roof and we are trying our best to keep above it all and stay positive. Times are rough, which is why I am calling out to you for help!

We are running a fundraiser to gain support for Linda, to help pay the medical bills, to relive stress of income, to gain quality time with her, but most importantly, to lift her spirits.

No matter what happens next, we will remain positive and do our very best make Mum better again! The battle continues, but we are stronger than cancer!
