My name is Linda, and I’m a theater artist who works with at-risk young people. Recently, I suffered a serious injury: I broke a bone in my wrist and another in my lower arm on my right side. As someone who is right-handed and relies on my hands for my work, this has been a huge setback. Because of my injury, I’ve had to cancel all my work contracts for December, which means I’m currently without income. On top of that, I have immediate medical bills that my insurance doesn’t fully cover, adding to the stress of this difficult time.
