Help Linda During Her Kidney Transplant Recovery!
Hello family and friends,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Linda Olarbi, who is preparing to undergo a life-saving kidney transplant. This journey is one filled with courage, hope, and uncertainty—and right now, she needs our support more than ever.
Her Story:
Linda has been diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney disease, and her condition has been progressing rapidly. In April Linda was rushed to Arlington Memorial Hospital where she was admitted to the ICU. Her doctors informed her that she will need a kidney transplant and she is currently undergoing dialysis three times a week—a grueling and life-altering treatment that has become part of her routine as she fights for her health.
Her doctors have made it clear: a kidney transplant offers her the best chance at a longer, healthier life. While this surgery is hopeful and life-changing, it comes with a tremendous financial burden.
Why We’re Asking for Help
In order to recover properly, Linda will be out of work for a period of time—without pay—until her short-term disability benefits kick in, which could take 14 to 24 days to process. During this waiting period, she will still be responsible for everyday living expenses, on top of medical-related costs.
How Your Donation Helps:
Your contribution will help cover;
Rent and utilities
Groceries and daily living needs
Transportation to and from dialysis and post-op appointments
Medical expenses not covered by insurance
A cushion of support while she heals
We are aiming to raise $5,000 to help cover post transplant medication to ensure that her body doesn't reject the new kidney, groceries, and transportation for follow up appointments with the transplant team during her recovery period.
Every Bit Counts
Whether it’s $5, $50, or just a kind share, every single bit helps. If you’re not able to give, please consider sharing this page with your network. Your support—no matter the size—can make a meaningful difference.
If you've ever had the privilege of meeting Linda, you know how big her heart is. She's the type of person who gives selflessly to others - and now, she needs our support in return.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping her take this next step toward healing.
With gratitude,
Team Linda
