Support Linda's Fight Against Brain Cancer

If you know our mom Linda, you know she is one of the most selfless people on earth. She does not hesitate to help others or offer unlimited kindness and support. She is not only our mother but also our shoulder to cry on, the woman we look up to, and our best friend. We absolutely adore her.

Unfortunately, our mom has been on a journey that no one wants to be on. It all started on January 16th; she was presenting with stroke-like symptoms and was rushed to the ER. They admitted her, did an MRI, and found a lesion on her brain, but no signs of a stroke. This is when the doctors realized she was actually having seizures. They could not determine what the lesion was and referred her to a neurologist/infectious disease specialist as an outpatient, then discharged her on January 20th, 2025.

We started scrambling to make appointments to quickly get her diagnosed. On January 30th, infectious disease reached out and asked us to take her to Wesley Chapel Advent to admit her for further testing, as they did not believe she should have gone home yet, as they were concerned the lesion was actually a brain infection. Linda endured many grueling tests during her 2nd admission to the hospital and eventually a biopsy on February 4th. Awaiting the results, she was discharged on February 8th with home health care and daily IV antibiotics (still concerned it was a brain infection).

On February 18th, we got the results of the biopsy and time stood still. She was diagnosed with GLIOBLASTOMA, IDH-WILDTYPE (CNS WHO GRADE 4). To say we were all shocked is an understatement. We immediately reached out to Moffitt and started meeting with a team of doctors to discuss the next steps. They all agreed that she needed to have surgery to remove the tumor, then she would start radiation for 6 weeks, and chemo for 6 months. On March 11th, almost 2 months after the initial ER visit, she had surgery to remove the tumor. The MRI after surgery showed no signs of the tumor remaining. This is fantastic news. She is currently recovering and awaiting her next steps to FIGHT this cancer.

We want to try and lift some of the burden as she navigates this overwhelming journey. Any donation will help ease the financial strain of medical expenses, recovery expenses, and travel costs. We will keep you updated and please know that your prayers and kind words are greatly appreciated and mean the world to our mom.

We are fundraising to support Linda's medical expenses and ongoing treatment.
