If you're reading this, you probably already know me! My name is Cierra, and I am hoping to raise some funds for my mom. Almost 11 years ago, my mom Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Almost two years ago, she went to the doctor for a concerning very small bump. Within a month and a half, it was surgically removed, and she was subsequently diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and had a few lymph nodes removed as well. Stage 4 melanoma means lifelong treatment. For two years, she handled Opdivo, an immunotherapy drug, very well overall. At the end of January, she had an allergic reaction. We tried one more time with pre-meds, and again, she had an allergic reaction. This is pretty rare, and now we are pivoting to a new treatment plan. It's an oral chemo called Mektovi that targets the specific mutation she tested positive for, and she starts tomorrow! I was able to secure a free goods voucher (after MANY phone calls and lots of time), and it basically allows the patient quick access to the first 30-day supply, allowing them to figure out how to pay for it after. Although Mektovi will be free for her after she meets her deductible, she still has to meet that deductible. Federal grants aren't an option as she's currently on Medicare. I'm hoping to find an alternative way to help her pay this deductible for her for the year. The alternative is setting up a payment plan with the pharmacy, and I would really like for her to avoid having to do that. Anything helps! Thank you!
