I'm writing this on behalf of my friend Sarah, whose mother, Linda Weisser, is in need of help financially. I've known Sarah for over 20 years. We first met in a college prep program called Upward Bound at NDSU and became great friends. She's a person who has a generous and giving heart. She advocates for justice and rights for those in need as a social worker.
She's someone I've always admired for her strength, wit, and courage.
Unfortunately, her mother, Linda Weisser, fell acutely ill this past September with confusion and weakness. She was admitted to Sanford, induced into a medical coma, and placed on mechanical ventilation. Fighting for her life, she endured multi-organ failure. Linda has battled for her life and was able to be weaned off the ventilator. In a much-reconditioned state, she sustained a couple of falls, which led to more complications. She was transferred to the long-term acute hospital Vibra and had remained hospitalized for nearly 3 months.
She was awaiting a bed at a transitional care facility to work on strength and balance with the ultimate goal to return home. Linda finally transferred to Bethany Transitional Care on December 16th.
Please consider giving what you can to help this family in need. If you're not able to support financially, prayers are always appreciated. May you be blessed and be in good health this holiday season. Thank you for your consideration.
