I'm Linda DeLaTorre and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It's very hard for me to reach out and ask for help in anything, an Aries trait I definitely relate to.

A few months ago, I was taken by ambulance and ended up having emergency abdominal surgery. One month later, I was admitted to the hospital due to complications from the previous surgery. Again, emergency surgery was done within hours of arriving.

I have now been moved to long-term hospital care to spend, as the doctors say, several weeks/many months to have additional abdominal repairing and recovery.

The care and recovery involve daily IV antibiotics several times a day, iron infusions, TPN (a type of intravenous (IV) feeding that delivers complete nutrition to people who can't use their digestive systems). Due to the severity of the abdominal repairs, the doctors have decided to leave my incision open. Wound care has tried a few times to set a wound vac up, but the attempts have not worked out, and they are working with my doctors on trying to figure out the next game plan for repair and eventually closing the incision.

I am asking for help financially as I try to get my work paperwork in order for short-term disability. As many know, short-term disability takes a while to start and pays very little. It's also taxed, and I still need to pay out of that my benefit premiums to keep my insurance active.

I am hoping with your help that I can stay on top of my bills (mortgage, water, car, electric, car insurance, etc.) until I can hopefully get home at some point and be able to work from home in bed and get a full paycheck if work will allow the restrictions. Also, wait for the lovely medical bills to come rolling in as well.
