Hello, my name is Tyler and I am attempting to raise money on the behalf of my grandmother, Linda Bagnell, to aide in her journey to recovery. Late this fall my grandma was diagnosed with AML, or acute myeloid leukemia, a very aggressive and advanced form of leukemia. AML is the most common acute leukemia diagnosis among adults and often leads to a very rapid change in medical needs, often requiring that patients get blood transfusions alongside chemotherapy and sometimes even the help of clinical trials and experimental medicines/treatments. These massive life changes have unfortunately knocked upon our door and now my grandma is fighting her own battle. So far we have gone through two rounds of chemo, many rounds of preparative and evaluative tests, and 3 total inpatient hospital stays for various reasons. This has taken a severe toll on our finances and has put us in a very rough place. Between travel, food/grocery (for inpatient stays), medical costs, and the usual run of bills for the month, spread thin would be the understatement of the century. I (Tyler) am one of my grandmothers caregivers for this process, which requires a completely open and changeable schedule for any given day or time, which has put me in a position where I cannot work/provide for the house, leaving sole reliance on my fiance for any supplemental help. This unfortunately is not enough though, the income of one person alone can only go so far, especially amongst four people. That is why ive made this gofundme. Im hoping with this go fund me to help start a fund that my grandma can use to cover the cost of things that she cant currently do, things such as utility and phone bills, car payments, co-pays and coverages for meds/surgery/physical therapy/med equipment, and travel. Along with my request for your help, I would like to heavily recommend a sister donation to either the American Cancer Society, or Blood Cancer United. Ill have some referral links at the bottom of this description with links to both websites and some other resources on blood cancer and related cancers such as AML if youd like to seek education and make a donation. We greatly appreciate your time in reading this and your consideration of us on the journey to a healthy recovery, if its not to much to ask please consider sharing this.
Thank you.
