Lincoln Auclair is my nephew, and he’s always been a gentle soul who cares for everyone with his whole heart and lives with a smile on his face. He’s also an adventurous kid who loves country music, riding dirtbikes, fishing, family game nights, and playing hockey and golf. Lincoln made the varsity team as a freshman for both hockey and golf, a testament to his talent and determination. Even now, facing an unimaginable diagnosis, he keeps reassuring us with his words: “It’s ok, I’m going to be ok.”

His strength and unwavering positivity inspire everyone around him. Through every treatment, every new step, and every difficult day, Lincoln has faced this battle with courage far beyond his years. Not once has he broken down or let fear and negativity take hold. Instead, he meets each day with quiet determination, a brave smile, and a heart full of hope.

Even in the face of uncertainty, he chooses strength. Even in pain, he chooses courage. And that resilience is nothing short of extraordinary.

Lincoln’s younger brother, Luke, is lost without him. Luke looks up to Lincoln as his best friend and role model, and this journey has been especially hard for him as he misses having his brother by his side.

Towards the middle to end of January, Lincoln was treated for what doctors thought was a respiratory infection. After multiple visits to the doctor and worry that he wasn't getting better, his parents, Jay and Heather, trusted their instincts and took him to Connecticut Children’s Hospital on February 3, 2026. There, a CT scan confirmed their worst fears: Lincoln was in double kidney failure due to an extremely rare autoimmune disorder called ANCA Vasculitis, which was also attacking his kidneys and lungs. He was rushed into surgery for immediate dialysis, and his life was forever changed.

Lincoln will need to remain on dialysis long term while his kidneys and his body fight to heal. Dialysis is now a part of his daily life, sustaining him while doctors work to bring this disease under control and get Lincoln into remission.

Only once remission is achieved can Lincoln begin preparing for the next major step in his journey: a kidney transplant. That path will bring its own challenges- physically, emotionally, and financially.

Jay and Heather have always been the first to support friends and family in times of need. Now, they are both out of work so they can be by Lincoln’s side every step of the way. The family has had to put their lives on hold while they pray for Lincoln’s life and focus on his recovery.

The road ahead is long and expensive: Lincoln will need at-home dialysis, ongoing medical supplies, and frequent doctor’s appointments. The family is facing mounting bills, mortgage payments, and the overwhelming costs of treatment, all while focusing on Lincoln’s recovery.

The financial burden is overwhelming. Lincoln will require:
  • Ongoing dialysis treatments

  • At-home dialysis equipment and medical supplies

  • Frequent specialist appointments

  • Travel to and from the hospital

  • Future transplant-related expenses

  • Everyday living expenses while both parents are unable to work

Please, if you’re able, consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Your support will help the Auclair family stay together and strong for Lincoln, giving him the best chance at recovery without the added stress of financial worries. Every donation and share truly makes a difference. Thank you for being part of Lincoln’s journey.
