At 85 years old, Lincoln Westby, is a legend in the world of fly fishing for permit in Belize. He has spent decades guiding anglers from around the world, helping many catch their first permit and sharing his deep knowledge of the ocean. Lincoln is not only respected for his skill, but also for his dedication to conservation—he has been a vocal advocate for protecting Belize’s ocean resources and has personally trained many of the region’s top guides.
Beyond all of this, he's one of the kindest humans you'll ever meet. If you've spent time in his boat, you know just how wonderful he is.
Last week, Lincoln fell at home and was hospitalized for four nights. During his stay, doctors discovered some heart issues and he needs to be on oxygen from time to time.
Sadly, they have also shared that Lincoln will no longer be able to work as a guide.
This sudden change has left Lincoln facing significant medical bills and uncertainty about his future. He now needs support to cover his medical expenses, manage his living costs, and perhaps to make a move closer to his family in Placencia.
Lincoln has given so much to his community and to the world of fly fishing. Now, as he faces these new challenges, your support can make a real difference. Any contribution will help ease the burden on Lincoln and his family, allowing him to focus on his health and well-being. Thank you for considering a donation to help a true pioneer and friend in his time of need.
