Life changed overnight for the Samples family.
What started as a simple case of strep throat for Lincoln Samples soon became something far more serious. When two rounds of antibiotics didn’t work, Lincoln was diagnosed with mono – but he still couldn’t kick his fever. Trusting their instincts, his parents took him to the ER, and shortly after he was rushed to Children’s Medical Center in Plano where bloodwork revealed something no family ever wants to hear - Lincoln was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
He began chemotherapy that very night. He’ll be in the hospital for at least the next 6 months, enduring intensive treatment with the hope of going home for a few days at a time if his health allows.
Doug, Sharla, and Lincoln’s siblings, Cannon and Reese, are now navigating a new and overwhelming reality filled with long hospital stays, emotional and physical exhaustion, missed work, and mounting medical bills.
The Samples family has deep roots in The Colony - all three kids attended B.B. Owen Elementary, and they’re active members of Lakeway Church. This family consistently steps up to volunteer whenever they can, supporting many organizations, with one of their favorites being the Young Men’s Service League.
Now, they’re in need of the same community’s support.
Every donation or share helps. Please keep Lincoln and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Together, we can help.
