Mark "Limerick" McLysaght had major surgery at Roper Hospital in Charleston last Friday and is now at home recovering.
He goes by many names Irish Mark, Limerick, Limbo, Mark After Dark, but the one thing that is consistent is the permanent smile on his face. There's never a dull moment when Mark is around. He is probably the best known Irishman in Charleston.
We all know Limbo as being a character, the funny guy, always with a joke at the ready, but Mark has had a difficult time in recent years.
He lost two people very close to him in the last two years. What's not commonly known about Mark is his generosity. As those he loved went through tough times, he was the one supporting them, to make sure they didn't have financial worries and could focus on their health. Irish Mark plays it tough, but he has a very soft and kind heart behind it all.
Now is our time to support Mark when he needs help himself. He had to pay $38,000 out of pocket for his operation, so we are looking to help support him financially through his illness.
