WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Our 5 year old Australian Cattle Dog, Lily, was diagnosed with lymphoma (lymphatic cancer) on September 30, 2025. Lily is responding very well to chemotherapy. Unfortunately, chemo only cures about 2% of dogs with lymphoma. Without additional treatment, Lily has roughly 9-12 months to live. However, there are other options.

Luckily, Adelia (my wife) and I live only a couple hours from Bellingham Veterinary in Bellingham, Washington. Bellingham Veterinary is the only veterinary clinic in the United States that offers a real cure for lymphoma. That cure is an allogenic stem cell transplant. This procedure offers a 90% chance at a lifelong cure for dogs with lymphoma. Dr. Edmund Sullivan, the main vet at Bellingham veterinary, developed this procedure in 2006 with the help of the University of Washington's Fred Hutch Cancer Center.

Although Dr. Sullivan and the folks at Bellingham Veterinary are willing to offer a generous payment plan with zero interest, we still need your help saving Lily. Please consider donating to Lily's stem cell treatment. By doing so, you aren't just saving our little girl - you are advancing the field of veterinary oncology.

HOW YOUR FUNDS WILL BE USED

All funds donated will be used for vet bills from Bellingham Veterinary related to Lily's cancer treatment. This includes bills related to chemotherapy (around $7,000 total), stem cell matching ($3,000 per potential stem cell donor), a downpayment for the stem cell transplant itself ($20,000 downpayment), and any necessary follow up cancer treatment that Lily may need.

ABOUT LILY

My wife and I adopted Lily in May 2020. Lily is the light of our lives. Lily LOVES hiking. In her lifetime, Lily has hiked over 200 miles and over 30,000 feet of vertical elevation gain. That's higher than Mount Everest! Lily loves stealing socks and causing general household havoc. Lily is a water dog, except she hates swimming - she only likes to wade! Lily also is wonderful with children, possessive of her parents, hates cats, loves chasing squirrels and crows, loves to bark at passing cars, and is in general an absolute joy to live with. Lily comes on every adventure that Adelia and I have, including our honeymoon this summer. She is not just our dog; she's family.

LILY'S NAME

Lily is named for the following Bible verse (Matthew 6:28-30):

"And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow and thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you - you of little faith?"
