Support Lily's Pectus Excavatum Surgery
Donation protected
I am raising funds for my kitten Lily. Lily was born with a condition called Pectus Excavatum. This condition can occur in humans as well as in animals. It is a congenital malformation of the rib cage and sternum, causing the chest to be sunken in. Lily is 16 weeks old and acts as a normal kitten now. She loves to play. However, as she grows this will change. I took her to the vet at 6 weeks old, where they did X-rays. They saw that her heart is pushed up against her ribs in an unnatural way. And as she grows, her heart will become more compressed which can eventually lead to heart failure.
I recently (7/15/24) took her to Cornell University veterinary hospital where they did more diagnostics. There is a corrective surgery that can be done that involves putting in an external splint to pull and shape her ribs into the correct position. The quote for cost of the surgery is $3000 to $5000. I want Lily to be able to have the full, normal life that she deserves. Anything you can contribute helps.
Thank you!
