Support Lily's Heart Transplant Recovery

Donation protected

My great granddaughter is currently inpatient recovering from a heart transplant she just got today. When Lily was born she stopped breathing and had to be given CPR for 7 minutes, and then she was immediately sent to a CICU for nearly a month, She was sent home prematurely without
my granddaughter or her husband being aware they had missed something. For about 3 months or so she was home as her heart was getting larger, weaker and it was dying.
My granddaughter took her to the doctor almost weekly, saying her breathing was off again, and she wasn’t latching well or eating much anymore, despite screaming because she was hungry. Finally they started to take her more seriously, since her oxygen was a little lower each time They sent her for x-rays at the hospital more than once to look at the lungs and several times they saw no issues and kept sending them away.
They somehow kept missing that her heart was getting much bigger.
It wasn’t until her heart got so big that her lung collapsed, and they caught it on one of the many x-rays.
After my granddaughter found out her daughter had dilated cardiomyopathy, she was told that it was so progressed at that point that the only way to fix the problem was to do a heart transplant.
They said if they didn’t notice when they did that she could’ve had a heart attack before they caught it, and that she might not survived. They also stated, they thought that she could’ve possibly lived on heart failure medicine or had a different path.
Now they are having to uproot in a new state to be closer to the new hospital she’s staying in this time around.
Due to all of this they need to save up for a new place and a car because they were in the middle of saving for one when everything happened. They need one for her to be able to go home and get to and from appointments. They unfortunately had to spend the money to stay places until RMH accepted them to live there until the transplant.
My granddaughter's husband is looking for a new job and they live off of one income and can not afford to save much, so any donations would be greatly appreciated!
