On July 15th someone who is very special to our family’s hearts was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Lily, my 13 year old cousin was given news that no person or parent should ever have to hear. Instantly the daunting work that goes into saving their child’s life began. Meredith and Chris hit the ground running and haven’t missed a beat.
The Solfa Family was tossed into a completely different scary world full
Of PET scans, Covid tests, chemo therapy and countless doctors, sick sleepless nights and all that comes with chemo. This is all happening while simultaneously raising their two other daughters Chloe and Laura. Family can’t come up to the hospital, days of quarantine, separate family meals, work, insurmountable medical expenses... you name it. This is undeniably the hardest thing a parent can face.
Lily is an amazing kid! Her courage is unreal! Her strength is amazing. She has such a good spirit and positive grateful attitude. She is also HILARIOUS! There are so many lessons we can learn by merely watching her fight this fight.
There have been countless people reaching out and helping when they can but we know there is so much more we can do to help them push through and stay focused on this fight.To everyone who has been so supportive and to all the helpers we have had THANK YOU , it means so much to our family!
The Law firm of Kuhn,Heap and Monson will be matching up to 500 dollars!
Crusade Burger in Yorkville is having a fundraiser and they have created a Cancer Sucks shake for Lily!Swing in there for a shake the week of September 21!
Don't forget that this month is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!
The Solfa's have already raised 1455 dollars for Cal's Angel's
