When Lily and I met in the 90s the truth is we didn't get along. In fact we couldn't stand one another. If you'd told me 20+ years later she'd be one of my very best friends I would have thought you were insane.
So that's why it very much pains me to write that she was recently diagnosed with Stage II Ovarian Cancer. The news was such a shock, especially to all of us that love her. Thankfully it was caught early enough that the prognosis is extremely promising (like full remission promising). She's currently recovering from one successful surgery and set to have another shortly, followed by a round of chemotherapy. All told this will be about a six month process, on and off.
As you can imagine practical concerns regarding finances and logistics have become a bit overwhelming, and contrary to popular belief no one in Hollywood is making any money except Tyler Perry and The Rock. So against her express wishes ("I don't want to be a sad Go Fund Me person" she told me) I am creating this account so people can help in anyway they can, whether that be financial, or assistance walking the dogs and/or providing meals. (I will create a Meal Train account once everything is formally scheduled and you can sign-up for either there.) The money raised through this campaign will go toward her deductible, anything not covered by insurance and the cost of a wig should she need it (fingers and toes crossed that won't be necessary).
