Lilly is a 19-year-old known for an abundance of kindness, selflessness, empathy, and compassion. Recently, her life changed in a way no young person ever expects. After months of unexplained and worsening back pain, Lilly heard the words no one is ever prepared for: you have cancer.

It started as what seemed to be back pain from doing what she loves—working as a professional dog groomer—and unknowingly became something much more serious. She continued pushing through, caring for her clients and their pets, until the pain became impossible to ignore. Her mobility became limited, and even everyday movement was difficult. She began weekly treatment at a local physical therapy office while balancing the physical demands of her job. However, the pain only worsened, and she was advised to seek further medical attention.

Lilly was first seen at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, where initial imaging raised serious concerns. She was then transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital, where further testing confirmed the diagnosis: lymphoma. She is currently in the ICU at Froedtert as her medical team works urgently to stabilize her and determine the best course of treatment.

Doctors have since discovered that the tumor extends along nearly her entire spine, running from her diaphragm to the base of her spine. It is wrapped around her spinal cord, causing a level 3 (severe) compression. The tumor surrounds the spine on all sides and has spread into the bones, contributing to the intense pain and serious neurological risk she is facing.

Today, Lilly is undergoing CT radiation mapping, which will allow her care team to create a precise and individualized treatment plan. Over the next 2–3 days, doctors will develop an intricate approach, with plans to begin radiation therapy immediately after. If at any point her spinal cord compression worsens, they are prepared to act even more urgently and begin treatment right away. Her overall treatment plan is expected to include both radiation and chemotherapy.

In the midst of all of this, Lilly is also a dedicated student at MATC, where she has been working toward becoming an echocardiogram technician—another reflection of her caring nature and desire to help others.

Anyone who knows Lilly knows how kind and thoughtful she is. She is the type of person who puts others first without hesitation. She graduated from Port Washington High School in 2024 and went straight into working full-time at the grooming salon she’s been part of since high school. She has a genuine love for animals and takes pride in the care she gives to every pet and client. Outside of work, she loves music—especially concerts—and spending time with the people she cares about most.

Because of her diagnosis and the intensity of what lies ahead, Lilly is unable to work and has already had to step away from her job. In an industry built on relationships and regular clients, this time away is both emotionally and financially significant. At the same time, unforeseen medical expenses continue to grow, including specialist care, treatments, and costs not fully covered by insurance. Her mom, Melisa, who manages and also grooms at the same salon, has also needed to take time away from work to be by Lilly’s side through all of this.

This fundraiser is meant to help ease that burden so Lilly can focus on fighting, healing, and getting through each day without the added stress of financial uncertainty.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this is another powerful way to support Lilly and help her story reach others.

Lilly has always been someone who brings light and care into the lives of others. Right now, she is facing the biggest fight of her life, and every bit of support around her matters more than words can express.

On behalf of Lilly and her family, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
