Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because my sweet dog, Lilly, a 9-year-old chihuahua, is facing a serious and unexpected medical issue, and I need help getting her the care she urgently needs.
Recently, her groomer noticed sudden bulging in Lilly’s left eye. I took her to the vet right away, and after an exam, they found signs of a retrobulbar lesion behind her eye, along with decreased movement and abnormal positioning of the eye. They also noted mild retinal changes.
The biggest concern is what could be causing this. It may be something treatable—but it could also be a tumor (malignant neoplasia), which can be life-threatening if not diagnosed quickly.
The next critical step is a CT scan of her head and orbit, which will allow the specialists to see exactly what’s behind her eye and how close it is to her brain and nasal cavity. Based on those results, Lilly may also need a fine-needle aspiration (FNA) or biopsy to determine exactly what we’re dealing with.
The estimated cost for these diagnostics is between $2,925 and $5,091.82—an amount I simply wasn’t prepared for! I already live paycheck to paycheck to get by on my own and in the past month have been hit with an additional condo assessment fee for two years that was not disclosed to me before purchasing my home.
Lilly is more than just a pet—she’s family. She’s been by my side through everything, always full of love, personality, and comfort. Not knowing what’s causing it is heartbreaking. She still can have so much life yet, as small dogs tend to live longer.
I’m asking for help to give Lilly a chance at a diagnosis and the right treatment. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to getting her the care she needs.
If you prefer, donations can also be made directly through Zelle.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and prayers for Lilly ❤️
