Support Lilly McCormick's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
On May 28, 2025, we received news that my niece, Lilly McCormick (Lil Bug to us), was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She has always been very healthy but started having some shortness of breath and tachycardia with exertion that prompted having blood work done. The results showed severe abnormalities, and they were told to go straight to WVU Children's.
Within a day, she was thrown into the realm of bone marrow biopsies, PICC lines, and chemotherapy. The preliminary plan is for her to be on chemo for at least 6-8 months. Due to the high risk of complications, she'll be required to stay in the hospital for 30 days with the hope of being able to take a 7-day break, then back to the hospital for 30 days to continue this cycle for the duration.
Obviously, this will place great financial strain on her parents with missing work, traveling over an hour to get to the hospital, food, etc. Michael and Bridget are not the type of people to ever ask for help, and they aren't now. They will do whatever it takes to be there for Lil. They did, however, give me permission to start this. I know so many people want to do anything to help and alleviating financial strain is one thing we can all do. Even the smallest donation cumulatively will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated.
We are also asking for prayers. We know who the ultimate physician is! We are praying for complete healing with no treatment complications. Also, please pray for her medical team to be guided and for Lil and all who love her to have strength during this challenging time.
Thank you and God Bless!
