Support Lillie Smith After Tim's Passing

I want to start off by sharing this is not a request from Lillie herself, as she is someone who will give and support those in need and expect nothing in return. She is truly genuine, loves hard, respects everyone, and without question strives to be someone who everyone feels comfortable enough to come to in a time of need. Lillie has been the heart, and peace in her family for many years, and continues to be just that, even in her darkest moments. As her friends, colleagues and those who love and adore Lillie, we feel it is time she feels loved and taken care of in her time of need without the worry of materialistic matters.

Lillie Smith recently lost her beloved husband of 33 years, Tim Smith, who unexpectedly passed away on May 3rd. Tim had been experiencing some health concerns, visiting specialists, and had recently gone through a quadruple bypass surgery, and Lillie was there right by his side, but never expecting his passing to be this soon or sudden. With that being said, she has had to miss multiple days of work, take time to commit to his recovery, and unfortunately take time to grieve and plan his funeral arrangements. Lillie committed her life to Tim when they were teenagers and raised a beautiful family together. Lillie is a devoted Christian, loving mother, Nana to 3 beautiful grandchildren, as well as a caretaker for her mother. To know Lillie is to love and adore her, she is a compassionate person, very respected in the community, and she has dedicated her life to helping others, through the church, community involvement, and especially through her work as a Teachers Assistant for the Exceptional Children Program in the Rockingham County School System.

With all this being said, as Lillie navigates this incredibly difficult, extremely emotional and life altering time, we are asking for support from friends, family, and the community to help ease the financial burden that comes with such an unexpected loss. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to Lillie, and this will help with Tim’s funeral expenses, household needs/bills as she will not receive a paycheck during the summer months. This will overall help with the transition ahead for her moving forward.

We ask that if you can, let’s come together to support someone in need, and allow her to grieve the love of her life without having to worry about finances for some time. She has given so much to others, even just in prayer.
