Lillian Terkelsen is one of those rare people who shows up for everyone else, even when life keeps knocking her down. She’s a nurse at a clinic for cancer patients, and when she’s not pouring her heart into her work, she’s been working extra shifts to try to cover the cost of surgery for her new rescue pup, Maeve (AKA Miss Moose).

Lillian adopted Maeve as a bright spot during a really tough season in her life...but almost immediately, Maeve was diagnosed with a torn ACL. Sadly, the injury likely existed before adoption and has now worsened, leaving Maeve in pain and unable to enjoy the playful, full life she deserves. Surgery is the only path forward, but the cost is overwhelming, even with Lillian’s relentless efforts to save and work more shifts at the clinic.

Until surgery can happen, Maeve is left limping and struggling, and Lillian is left carrying the weight of financial stress on top of everything else. She has a huge heart and would never ask for help for herself, which is why I (Hanna) am asking on her behalf. I met Lillian through a Bible study at Austin Ridge and have been deeply moved by her faith, her resilience, and her compassion for others. She is the kind of person who constantly gives—and right now, she deserves support in return.
