This sweet pup is called Lila. She was found on the side of the road near our home with a bad limp and a worse wound on the top of her paw. I knew there was no way I could leave her out there on her own like that. So, we picked her up in the truck and she came to stay overnight at our house.

The next morning I took her to our amazing vetrinarian's office to see what could be done for her. There, she was checked for a microchip and no owners have since been found. After an exam and x-rays we found out that she most likely suffered some kind of permanent nerve damage to her front right leg. Her muscle in that leg is atrophied and the wound on her paw was from her dragging that leg around for who knows how long. It was even worn down to the bone in some places. Sadly, this beautiful girl needs to have that leg amputated and go through recovery before we can help her find her forever home.

Lila is already an experienced tripawd pup since she has been getting around without the use of that leg for some time. Our vet says she should do really well adjusting after her surgery.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get help from any rescues and due to personal circumstances we can not be her forever home. BUT I am still asking around and any donations here will go towards her care no matter what.

With this fundraiser I am asking for funds to help cover costs for her amputation surgery and all that entails. Plus a bit extra to help recover some of the vet bills we have already had to stretch to pay. As well as funds to get her spayed after she is recovered. That way she can be fully ready to find her forever family.

Lila is estimated to be quite young. Maybe a little less than a year old. So far she has been really well behaved. Like any puppy she needs a bit of training and lots of toys to focus her puppy chewing on, but overall she has been a great house guest.
