Support Lil and Lala After Devastating rains

Lil was raised in Maine and raised 2 beautiful daughters there. She moved to Airzona lived there for 15 years with her daughters and 5 grandchildren. Her dog Lala has been with her for 8 years. Her love of water and wanting to be near the ocean brought her to Brunswick County. In 2022 she joined Caswell Beach Turtle Team. She fell in love with the turtles, wanting to be more involved with the Turtle Program she built her dream and forever home in Boiling Spring Lakes. In 2023 she moved into that home. Not being anywhere near water the Builder and Insurance agent told her she did not need Flood insurance. So, like the majority of us she did not take it out. No one expected the rain that we received on Monday, September 16! Her beautiful home was inundated with over 18 inches of rain, mud and pine needles. Her driveway, home, car and yard are destroyed. All of us in Brunswick County are affected by this horrific rain in one way or the other. For Lil it has been heart wrenching. Her and Lala were rescued from her home by BSL Fire Dept. When the rain finally stopped they took her to a friends house which is where she is today. She has no Flood Insurance. FEMA can't help because the worst rainfall in 1,000 years has no name yet.

Her forever home is not safe to live in at this time. Being a proud single parent never asking for help this is hard for her but needs help. She is in need of financial help. Anything that you can contribute will be greatly appreciated!
