Help Likely Ivy Recover After Fire Damage

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 15, a major fire broke out at GOL PDX and spread through a business complex in Southeast Portland, heavily damaging several small businesses. Thankfully, no one was injured. But the fire left behind significant fire, smoke, and water damage, including at Likely Ivy, a beloved cupcake shop owned by Ivy Nacol.

A little bit about Ivy and Likely Ivy

If you know Ivy, you know how special she is. Ivy is kind-hearted, generous, community-minded, and the kind of person who brings warmth to every interaction. She has poured so much of herself into building Likely Ivy, not just through her delicious cupcakes, but through the joy, care, and connection she brings to the people around her.

Ivy opened her Hawthorne shop only about a year ago, which makes this loss especially heartbreaking. Like so many small business owners, she has worked incredibly hard to grow her business, build a community around it, and create something that means so much to her.

Now, through no fault of her own, she is unable to work out of the shop she worked so hard to build.

How will your donation help?

We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease some of the huge financial burden facing Ivy as she tries to navigate what's next. She is dealing with not only lost business from closing her shop, but also extensive damage to her shop, equipment replacement costs, and the process of getting Likely Ivy back up and running.

Ivy does have insurance but it is barely covering the costs to clean up and purchase new equipment. At this point, the hurdles and expenses are so high, but she is determined to do all she can to open up her shop again. This support will go a long way in helping her try and recover from this devastating fire.

Our hope is that this fundraiser can give Ivy some much-needed support and remind her that the same community she has poured so much love into is here to support her, too. She is also determined to share a portion of these donations to neighboring businesses who don’t have fundraisers or social media and are in need of support.

Any amount you’re able to give will make a difference. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much! Thank you for helping support Ivy as she works to recover and rebuild her beloved shop.
