Support Liggett Family After Tragic Accident
Donation protected
Over Labor Day weekend, the Liggett family's sweet and spirited son, Cohen, was involved in a traumatic lawn mower accident. He was airlifted to a hospital in Chicago, where he was rushed into emergency surgery and stabilized. Since then, doctors have been working tirelessly to treat a severe wound to his leg, which remains open as they determine the best course of action for future surgeries that will offer Cohen the best possible quality of life.
The Liggett family is heartbroken but holding onto hope. They are asking, first and foremost, for your prayers — for Cohen’s complete healing, for strength and peace during this unimaginable time, and for wisdom for the medical team as they make critical decisions for Cohen’s future.
In addition to the emotional toll, the practical and financial strain on the family is immense. Doctors anticipate that Cohen will need to remain hospitalized for several weeks.
As many of you know, their youngest son, Reed was hospitalized multiple times after 3 separate surgeries over the last year due to a congenital condition affecting his colon. While Reed’s surgeries are behind him, he was recently diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome, a rare condition that causes severe food and environmental allergies. Jacki is still nursing Reed, who is not allowed in the ICU, which means she and her husband are taking shifts between Cohen’s bedside and Reed’s care.
They are currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House near the hospital, doing everything they can to keep their family strong and together during this time.
We are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial burden this crisis has brought. Donations will go toward:
• Medical expenses and ongoing treatment for Cohen, including surgeries, wound care, and physical therapy
• Living expenses, such as meals, transportation, and temporary housing
• Giving the Liggett family the space to focus on what matters most: being together and healing
Any amount helps — whether it’s a financial donation or simply sharing this page with others. Thank you for standing with the Liggetts in prayer, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
