Support John Lucas and Silas in Their Fight Against XLP

My very best friend’s world was once again turned upside down when both of her sweet boys, John Lucas and Silas, were recently diagnosed with X-linked Lymphoproliferative Disease (XLP). XLP is an incredibly rare genetic disorder that affects only one in a million males, making it even more shocking that both brothers have been diagnosed. This disease causes the immune system to overreact to infections, leading to life-threatening complications. Without treatment, most individuals with XLP do not survive past childhood.

The only known cure is a bone marrow transplant. John Lucas is expected to undergo his transplant within the next month or two, while doctors are working to develop a plan for Silas in the coming weeks. Before the transplant process, John Lucas and Mary Beth will be admitted to the hospital where he will endure 7-10 days of intense chemotherapy to completely eradicate his own bone marrow. Following the transplant, they will face a hospital stay of at least 50-60 days, minimum, as he begins his recovery. While we are heartbroken over this diagnosis, we know that God is sovereign and will continue to carry this family through the storm.

As you can imagine, the emotional, physical, and financial toll of this journey is overwhelming.
