The Gap Between the Call and the Siren
Nineteen years in public safety—ranging from the beat of a local police officer to the complexities of federal enforcement and emergency management—teaches you one sobering truth: In a crisis, time is the only currency that matters. I entered this field with a simple goal: to help people. But as a first responder, I often arrived at a scene where the "help" needed to happen five minutes before I pulled up. That realization is what drove me to become a CPR and AED instructor. I wanted to stop just responding to emergencies and start empowering the community to survive them.

Why Every Second Counts

When a heart stops, the clock doesn't just tick; it races. Here is why community proficiency is the most effective tool we have:

The 4-Minute Threshold: Permanent brain damage begins in as little as four minutes without oxygen. Even the fastest emergency response often exceeds that window. Immediate CPR keeps oxygenated blood flowing, "buying time" until help arrives.

The Power of the AED: Modern Automated External Defibrillators are designed for the public. They are foolproof, providing voice prompts that guide you through every step. Using an AED within the first 3–5 minutes of collapse can increase survival rates by up to 70%.

It’s Usually Personal: Statistically, you aren't likely to perform CPR on a stranger. Over 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in private homes. You are learning this skill to save your spouse, your parent, or your best friend.

A Mission for Our Community

My career has been defined by service, but my greatest impact isn't the arrests I've made or the disaster plans I've written—it's the hands I've trained. Every person who becomes proficient in CPR is a new safety net for our neighborhood.
We are not just teaching a set of motor skills; we are building a community where "helplessness" is replaced by "readiness." When you learn CPR, you aren't just a bystander anymore. You are the first, and most important, link in the chain of survival.

In order to make this possible, we need to acquire the essential equipment so all our students can get the best hands on training possible.

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
